About 5 years ago I concluded that in line with the predictible format of the show LOST there could never be a satisfying ending that could connect the pieces together in a meaningful way, therefore not worth pursuing until the final episode.
5 years later, after many, many promises of tying it together, the creator says this as the series winds down:
"We're trying to end the show in a way that feels LOST-ian" [aka pointlessly mysterious]..."and will generate a tremedous ammount of theorizing."
At least MYST eventually made sense.
